BIOGRAPHY

It is recorded in the CWGC Debt of Honour Website that Jean Dibby Wright was a daughter of William Grant Wright and Mary Victoria Wright of Portaferry, Co. Down.

The death of Jean Dibby (sometimes Dibbey) Wright was registered in the first quarter of 1942 in Newark, Nottinghamshire.  She died on 8 February 1942 in St. Ann’s War Emergency Hospital, Newark and was cremated on 11 February 1942 in Nottingham Crematorium.  The applicant was William R.G. Wright who lived at 19 Mayfield Terrace, Edinburgh and in the Crematorium records it is noted that ‘her ashes were taken away for burial at Victoria Falls in Canada’.

The Victoria Falls are in fact located in Zimbabwe but there is a Victoria Park in Canada at the Niagara Falls and she may have been buried there.
