BIOGRAPHY

William Scott was born on 6 March 1895 at 26 Stranmillis Park, Belfast and he was a son of William James Scott and Catherine Hamilton Thorburn Scott (nee Park) whose marriage was registered in 1894 in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland.

William James Scott worked as a commission agent and broker, and he and Catherine Hamilton Thorburn Scott (nee Park) had three children:

William (born 6 March 1895 at 26 Stranmillis Park, Belfast)

James Park (born 8 September 1900 in Belmont Park, Belfast)

Wilhelmina (born 25 November 1901 in Belmont Park, Belfast)

In 1911 the Scott family was living at 21 Kincora Avenue, Belfast; William was boarding at Campbell College, Belfast.

During the Second World War Major William Scott DSO MC (No. 7957) on the General List attached Royal Irish Fusiliers died on Tuesday 14 May 1940 (aged 45) and was buried in Avesnes-Le-Comte Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
