His surname is spelt Prossor in the death notices in the 8 July edition of the County Down Spectator.
David Francis Prosser’s birth was registered in the second quarter of 1917 in Dolgelly, Merionethshire and he was a son of William Austin Prosser and Annie Prosser (nee Jones) who was born in Newbridge, Monmouthshire. William (in some records Walter) Austin Prosser worked as a coal miner and his marriage to Annie Jones was registered in the third quarter of 1911 in Pontypridd, Glamorganshire.
David Francis Prosser was the husband of Jeannie Prosser (nee McMaster) of 55 East Street, Newtownards. They were married on 27 February 1941 in Ballyblack Presbyterian Church and had two children. During the Second World War Fusilier Prosser served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers and he died of a carcinoma in Ards District Hospital on 3 July 1944 after a long illness. There is an inscription on his CWGC headstone:

His wife Jeannie died on 30 August 2001 (aged 82).
