BIOGRAPHY
Michael Kenny Pendlebury was born on 21 January 1926 in Wigan, Lancashire and he was a son of Brigadier James William Pendlebury DSO MC and Dorothy Pendlebury (nee Best) of Burley, Hampshire. Their marriage was registered in the third quarter of 1916 in Wigan and they had at least two children:

Michael Pendlebury attended Campbell College, Belfast from September 1939 until April 1940 when Brigadier James William Pendlebury (then Lieutenant Colonel) was in command at Palace Barracks, Holywood.
After leaving school Michael Kenny Pendlebury lived in Cornwall and during the Second World War he served with the East Lancashire Regiment.
Second Lieutenant Michael Kenny Pendlebury (No. 331902) was 19 when he died on 16 April 1945 during the Allied advance through Germany and he is commemorated in Campbell College Belfast, and in the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club Holywood.
