BIOGRAPHY

John Cecil Beresford Harris was a son of Henry Kingsford Harris M.A., M.I.E.E., F.R.S.A. and Cecile Blanche Kingsford Harris (nee Simms) of Notting Hill Gate, London.  His parents were married on 8 August 1912 in All Saints Church, Marylebone, London, and John was born on 28 September 1913.  His sister Kathleen was born on 17 March 1915.

Gunner John Cecil Beresford Harris (No. 989366) served with 71 Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery and he died on 9 December 1940 (aged 27) when the Regiment was based in Northern Ireland.  He was single and unmarried.

Gunner John Cecil Beresford Harris (No. 989366) was buried in Donaghadee Parish Church of Ireland Graveyard and his CWGC headstone bears the inscription:
