BIOGRAPHY

Archibald Trainor, known as Archie, was born on 21 June 1895 at 6 Donegall Quay, Belfast and he was a son of Michael and Susan Trainor (nee McLaughlin) who were married on 9 August 1894 in the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlereagh, Belfast.  Michael Trainor of 62 Fraser Street, Belfast was a son of Archibald Trainor, a merchant.  Susan McLaughlin of 8 Great Victoria Street, Belfast was a daughter of John McLaughlin, a merchant.

Michael Trainor worked as a publican and spirit merchant and he and Susan had three children:

Archibald (Archie, born 21 June 1895 at 6 Donegall Quay, Belfast)

Michael (born around 1896/1897 in Belfast)

Anna May (Annie, born 29 May 1898 in High Street, Holywood)

Their mother, Susan, died of typhoid fever on 31 August 1898 (aged 25).

The Trainor family lived at 29 High Street, Holywood.

Archie Trainor enlisted in Belfast, he served with the Army Service Corps and was 23 when he died on 16 October 1918.

His father Michael died on 19 May 1922 (aged 55).
