BIOGRAPHY
Thomas McBride Patton was born on 15 October 1895 in the townland of Ballywilliam, Donaghadee and he was a son of Henry and Mary Patton (nee McBride, from Portavo) who were married on 19 January 1894 in Ballycopeland Presbyterian Church and who lived with Henry’s parents, William and Ann Patton, in the townland of Ballywilliam, Donaghadee. Theirs was a farming family and Henry and Mary Patton (nee McBride) had two children:

Annie Catherine (born 11 April 1897 in Ballywilliam, Donaghadee)
Thomas and Annie Patton were baptised in First Donaghadee Presbyterian Church.
Their mother, Mary, died of pneumonia on 29 October 1898 (aged 32).
Their father Henry married Elizabeth Angus from Portavo on 23 January 1900 in Ballycopeland Presbyterian Church and they lived with Henry’s parents, William and Ann Patton, in the townland of Ballywilliam, Donaghadee.
Henry and Elizabeth Patton (nee Angus) had two children:
William (born 25 June 1901 in Ballywilliam, Donaghadee)
Sophia (born 21 May 1903 in Ballywilliam, Donaghadee)
Their mother, Elizabeth, died on 23 May 1903 (aged 34) as a result of a ruptured uterus (following childbirth).
Their grandmother, Ann Patton, died on 21 March 1906 (aged 81).
Thomas Patton enlisted in Donaghadee, served with the 6th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles in 29th Brigade of the 10th (Irish) Division and was 21 when he died on 10 December 1916 as a result of wounds sustained in the Balkans.
