BIOGRAPHY
In some records his surname is spelt Miller.
In the Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914 – 1919 database it is recorded that Sergeant Thomas Millar (No. 15499) was born in Ballygowan and enlisted in Belfast.
In the CWGC website it is recorded that Sergeant Thomas Millar (No. 15499) died on 12 July 1916 whilst serving with the 8th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles in 107th Brigade of the 36th (Ulster) Division.
In the Army Register of Soldiers’ Effects it is recorded that Sergeant Thomas Millar (No. 15499) was presumed dead and must have died ‘on or since 2 July 1916’. His widow was named as Sarah H. Millar.
Thomas Millar and Sarah Hare (sometimes Haire) Meharry were married on 24 February 1911 in St Anne’s Church of Ireland Cathedral Belfast. Thomas Millar (aged 21) was a labourer from 21 Dock Street, Belfast and he was a son of John Millar, a labourer. Sarah Hare Meharry (aged 21) from 53 Mervue Street, Belfast was a daughter of William Meharry, a labourer.
Thomas and Sarah Millar (nee Meharry) had at least one child:

Thomas Millar was born on 1 April 1892 in Ravara and he was a son of John and Margaret Millar (nee McIlveen) who were married on 16 December 1889 in St Anne’s Church of Ireland Church Belfast. They had at least nine children:
