In the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Debt of Honour Website it is recorded that Private Hugh McTear (No. 12013) was a son of Daniel McTear of 4 Kennel Lane, Newtownards and the late Mrs McTear.

Private Hugh McTear (No. 12013) served with the 1^st Battalion Highland Light Infantry and he was 20 when he died of wounds on 17 May 1915.
