BIOGRAPHY

In the Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914 – 1919 database it is recorded that Private Samuel Logan (No. 8866) was born in Shankill, Belfast and enlisted in Newtownards.

Private Samuel Logan served with the 2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and he was killed in action on 29 September 1918, by then with 109th Brigade in the 36th (Ulster) Division during the Allied offensive against all sections of the German line.

In the Army Register of Soldiers’ Effects his legatee is named as Alexander Stewart Esq.
