BIOGRAPHY

The name Robert William Gilham is commemorated in Holywood Masonic Lodge No. 254.

Robert William Gilham was a son of Robert and Sarah Gilham of East Dereham, Norfolk and the husband of Florence R. Gilham of 59 Englefield Road, Southgate Road, London.

Born in North Tuddenham, Norfolk, Robert William Gilham enlisted at Cranmer Hall, Norfolk and served with the 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment.

Sergeant Robert William Gilham was killed in action during the German offensive on 30 May 1918 and he was buried in Bagneux British Cemetery in France.  There is an inscription on his CWGC headstone:
