BIOGRAPHY

The death on active service of Lieutenant Colonel the Earl of Feversham was reported in the 30 September 1916 edition of the Newtownards Chronicle under the headline Dowager Lady Londonderry’s Nephew Killed.

Charles William Reginald Duncombe, 2nd Earl of Feversham was a nephew of the Dowager Marchioness of Londonderry and he was also known as Viscount Helmsley MP.

Charles William Reginald Duncombe was a frequent visitor to Mountstewart, Greyabbey and was very well known in the area.

Lieutenant Colonel Charles William Reginald Duncombe was 37 when he was killed in action on 15 September 1916 and he was buried in the A.I.F. Burial Ground, France.  There is an inscription on his CWGC headstone:
